About

Kathy, Voice Coach/Owner of Kathy's Voice Studio

Kathy Aldridge
Voice Teacher and Owner of Kathy’s Voice Studio
The Woodlands, TX

Kathy specializes in voice lessons for both teens and adults.  She also offers special teaching techniques for younger children.

Her first vocal studio in Galveston TX consisted of adults in both beginner and intermediate levels and teens involved in musical theater and UIL solo and ensemble contest.

She is also very interested in helping non-singers become more confident and comfortable with their voices, even if just for their own pleasure.

The person who “can’t carry a tune in a bucket” has been a career-long interest for Kathy.  She works on pitch-matching and teaching pitch intervals in a repetitive manner.

Church music has been a big part of Kathy’s life. She has long been a church soloist and has 12 years of experience as a church choir director.  Kathy has also been a soloist for many sacred oratorio performances.

Musical Theater has a special place in her heart. She has had lead roles in productions, such as “Oklahoma”, “Oliver”,  “Camelot”, “King & I”, “The Music Man”, “The Boyfriend”,  “Damn Yankees” and more.

Menotti’s operettas were a favorite, and she performed in “The Telephone”, “The Old Maid and the Thief” and was The Mother in “Ahmal and the Night Visitors.”

Kathy studied voice at University of North Texas with Virginia Botkin, studied privately with Maureen Patton in Galveston and Anne Farrel at University of Puget Sound, studied several years in a choral and soloist setting with Dr. Paul Schulze at University of Puget Sound in Tacoma WA, and has studied and experienced the vocal techniques of Dr. Allen Hightower, currently at University of North Texas.
